Since the time Sourav Ganguly took the role of the president of the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI), he has implemented upon new ventures. To start with, the former Indian captain took the initiative to conduct the first-ever day and night Test in Kolkata against Bangladesh. In the latest news, the BCCI has decided to hand over the administrative power to the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).

As per a BCCI official, the bestowing of the administrative power to the Rajasthan Cricket Association means that the consortium would operate like any other cricket association. Earlier the team used to play as “Team Rajasthan” with the BCCI logo. The decision to hand over the power was taken in the Apex Council Meeting, having been approved by the Apex Council.

“The RCA issue related to hand over of operations was taken up, and the Apex Council approved it. After this decision, RCA will function like any other cricket association and the state team will now operate under the aegis of the association.” a source of BCCI said as quoted by Deccan Chronicle.

BCCI pondering the appointment of Cricket Advisory Committee:

The BCCI, after electing a new president in Sourav Ganguly is also considering to form a Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) who will elect a new selection panel. Since Ganguly is not present currently since he is out to attend an event, it is understood that the General Body Meeting will discuss the formation of the CAC on 3rd December where former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman may get appointed for the role.

Further, it has also been learnt that the representatives of the Physically challenged and Blind Cricket associations would be rendezvous with the BCCI President on Sunday to address their concerns. On the same day, India’s U19 World Cup squad would also be announced.
