Once again, the headache will start for the selectors, as the series against South Africa is concluded and there are quite a few player profiles on the table to pick for the series against Bangladesh. In the latest development regarding the upcoming series, it is learnt that the Indian board will select the squad for upcoming series.
India will take on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series followed by a two-match Test series. The series gets underway in the Capital on November 3. And also, for the first time, Bangladesh will be touring to play two formats of the game.
Meeting to be held on October 24th:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) selection committee meeting will be held on October 24 to select India’s squad for the upcoming Bangladesh series. The meeting will also see the presence of Sourav Ganguly, who wants to have a chat with Virat Kohli as BCCI President.
“Team selection for upcoming series against Bangladesh is to be held on October 24,” a BCCI source told ANI.
It would be interesting to see how the selection of the team goes. All the players have performed well against South Africa. Perhaps, this would be the chance for India to try out different combinations.
The selection for the T20I series is to be done on Thursday and Ganguly has said that he will take the opportunity to speak to the selectors on M.S. Dhoni. The former India skipper has been on a sabbatical leave since the World Cup in England in July.
Meanwhile, Kohli is set to return for the two-Test series against the Bangla Tigers as he has made it clear that the format is close to his heart. And also, he wants to leave no stones unturned to ensure that India is crowned champions in the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship.
