Chasing 149 for victory, Bangladesh rode on Mushfiqur Rahim’s unbeaten 60 off 43 balls and Soumya Sarkar’s 39 off 35 balls to reach the target with 3 balls to spare.

Mushfiqur and Sarkar were part of a 44-run partnership for the third wicket while Sarkar also added 46 with debutant Mohammad Naim, who made 26 off 28 balls. The half-century was Mushfiqur’s 5th in the format.

Speaking of the knock, Mushfiqur Rahim quoted that he was pretty happy with the result and quoted that it means a lot to him to beat India in India. Further, he revealed the talk between him and Soumya Sarkar when things were against them in the middle of the chase.

”When we were playing in front of a huge crowd, and when the team needs it, nothing like playing an innings like that. Nothing like beating India in India, so this means a lot to me. Soumya and I had a chat, and we thought of dragging the game deep, and any of the quicks could have been targeted for 15-20 in an over.”

“The spinners got a lot of assistance so it was hard to hit them. Naim also played really well at the start. I’m trying my best to evolve as a cricketer, and I will try to perform in each and every game for Bangladesh,” Mushfiqur Rahim quoted.
