Australian fast bowler Ben Laughlin went on to mock Carribean-born all-rounder Jofra Archer on the micro-blogging website Twitter. Both Laughlin and Archer had played for the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the recently concluded eleventh edition of the cash-rich league.
Meanwhile, when Jofra Archer played a scoop shot in the ongoing Royal One-day Cup while playing for Sussex in the county season, Laughlin took a sarcastic dig at the all-rounder.
As Archer failed to deliver the goods with the bat in the professional domestic Twenty league IPL, Laughlin asked Archer where he was hiding this shot in India.
Archer went on to reply that the shot had to come out as the third man was in the 30-yard circle.
However, the fast bowler Archer from Barbados did a good job with the ball for the Rajasthan. The lanky speedster scalped 15 wickets in the 10 matches he played for the inaugural champions.
However, Archer scored only 15 runs in the eight innings he played. Thus, he let his team down with the bat.
On the other hand, Laughlin took nine wickets in the seven matches he played for the Jaipur-based outfit.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan’s journey in the IPL was cut short by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the eliminator. In fact, the team did well to reach playoff stage after a shaky start.
Meanwhile, Sussex lost their match by six wickets to Glamorgan in the South Group match. Archer scored 19 runs off 17 balls in the first innings played by Sussex. The Barbados bowler went wicketless in the nine overs he bowled.
In fact, India’s fast bowler Ishant Sharma is also plying on his trade for Sussex. The lanky Indian pacer scalped two wickets but his team ended up on the losing side.
