Ben Stokes Takes Legal Action On English Daily That Leaked His Tragic Past

Recently, we came across Ben Stokes releasing a statement regarding the poor journalism of ”The Sun”, who took an interview with Ben Stokes’ family before revealing the tragic incident of their life publicly. Now, the flamboyant all-rounder filed a complaint on the English Daily and sent them a legal notice.

The last few months are all about Ben Stokes on the NEWS headlines in the cricketing world. And, thankfully, most of the time, he was on the news for all the right things he did on the field. However, the English Daily, The ”SUN”, brought the unfortunate past of Ben Stokes and his family to take the limelight.

Regarding the same, Ben Stokes took a strong stand against the SUN. After issuing a stern statement, Stokes and his mother have reportedly taken legal action against The Sun. It is a UK newspaper that published sensitive information.

As per The Guardian, over a month after the incident, Stokes and his mother, Deborah have filed a case against The Sun. It was made for the invasion of privacy and recalling the tragic past that had been long forgotten. However, The Guardian has mentioned that it is unclear whether papers have been formally served or not.

In between, the Spokesperson of the media quoted that they have got utmost sympathy to the all-rounder. But, stated that they have revealed the information after taking the permission of one of their family members.

“The Sun has the utmost sympathy for Ben Stokes and his mother. But it is only right to point out the story was told with the co-operation of a family member. He/She supplied details, provided photographs and posed for pictures. The tragedy is also a matter of public record. And, was the subject of extensive front-page publicity in New Zealand at the time,” a spokesperson for the Sun was quoted as saying by BBC.

Ben Stokes was very frustrated regarding the incident, as he quoted that the news publishers behaved like immortal and heartless to the feelings of others. The latest step by the all-rounder isn’t a surprise.
