The upcoming edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) will commence from December 17 and will run for almost two months before they find the winners of the ninth edition of the competition. Meanwhile, BBL 9 will feature a brand new final system with five teams fighting for a place in the summit clash.
Meanwhile, in the last six of the eight seasons of BBL, the team that has finished top of the table has bowed out from the semifinals of the tournament. Thus, Cricket Australia has taken a fairer approach to give the team who finishes on the top points table more opportunities to make it to the finals. While there might be a possibility that the side finishing in the fifth may reach the finals but for that to happen, they have to prove their mettle by winning four finals away from home in the space of nine days to lift the trophy.
