Mark Cosgrove continues to hog the limelight for all the wrong reasons. Few days ago, the Australian batsman had gone viral over internet after heading a bouncer to the slip cordon. Mark Cosgrove has now probably beat that bizarre moment with yet another scarcely-believable action on the cricket field.

Playing for Leicestershire against Glamorgan in English county cricket’s division two, the southpaw suffered a brainfade moment which eventually resulted into his run-out. Mark Cosgrove was out for a duck in the first innings but was looking good to score big in the second. But before the batsman could convert his start into something big, a moment of madness brought about his downfall.

For reason only known to him, Mark Cosgrove bizarrely tried to attempt a quick single after blocking the ball to a fielder who was positioned almost under his helmet. Not very surprisingly, he failed in his attempt and was run out for 28. Cosgrove’s batting order was shocked with the turn of events too as he stood in his crease and see the drama unfold and come to an end in a blink of an eye.

Here is that bizarre run-out:

Talking about the game, Glamorgan thrashed Leicestershire by 291 runs to stay in hunt for the promotion. The win has helped Glamorgan move to fourth place in Division Two. Needing to bat out the entire final day with eight wickets in hand, Leicestershire were all out for 132 in mid-afternoon.

Spinner Andrew Salter was Glamorgan’s most successful bowler with 3-6. For Leicestershire, Harry Dearden was the most successful batsman, scoring 37.
