In yet another blow to England ahead of their huge clash against Australia, their pace spearhead Jofra Archer is looking doubtful for the clash at Lord’s on Tuesday. England have already lost the services of Jason Roy for the clash against the defending champions. Roy is sidelined with the injury that he had sustained while fielding in the game against West Indies on June 14.

And even before Roy could recover, England are looking set to lose Jofra Archer. Their shocking loss to Sri Lanka has put them in a spot of bother. With 8 points from six games, they are currently fourth in the points table. However, the road ahead is only tougher and if England fail to win their remaining three games, they can very well exit the competition at the group stage. England’s remaining opponents are – Australia, India, New Zealand. All of the three teams are placed above them in the points table.

Jofra Archer has been a revelation for them in the competition. Barring the match against Pakistan where he went wicketless,  he has picked up three wickets in each of the other five games. With Australia’s top-order in red-hot form at the moment, losing Archer would be a huge blow for the hosts.
