Former South African batsman AB de Villiers has joined Rangpur Riders for the upcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League 2018-19. In fact, the signing of former talisman batsman is the second for the franchise outside the player draft. The drafts will take place today. Riders had signed combative England batsman Alex Hales as their first player outside of the draft.

Thus, the Rangpur Riders make a deadly combination at the top of the order with Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, and AB de Villiers. Meanwhile, there were reports that AB de Villiers might take a second call on his retirement in January to make himself available for World Cup. However, the South African linchpin went on to deny such rumors.

In fact, AB de Villiers had surprisingly called it a day on his International career in May. He had said that he was too tired to continue at the International level. Furthermore, he has also made himself available for the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League.

On the other hand, AB de Villiers will ply on his trade in a Mzansi Super League as a marquee player. There is no denying the fact that former Proteas batsman will add a spark to the BPL 2018.
