Zimbabwe great Brendan Taylor, on Monday, named his best five fast-bowlers across all formats. At a time when cricketers are really finding it tough to keep up with the demands of the game, there are some bowlers who continue to impress in all the three formats.

All the three formats require different skill sets and the leading bowlers in the world have done that brilliantly. The bowlers have developed variations like slow bouncers, wide yorkers to keep the batsmen in check. Doing well across all the three formats is really tough but a few have managed to do it.

As far as Brendan Taylor is concerned, he revealed the name of the bowlers during an exclusive chat with Cricket Addictor. His best all-format bowlers are – Dale Steyn, Mitchell Johnson,  Mitchell Starc, Jasprit Bumrah and James Anderson. Well, all of the five pacers are among the best of the generation. Steyn is South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in Tests and retired from the longest format last year.

He has 439 Test wickets, 196 ODI wickets and 64 T20I wickets. Johnson has retired from the game and is one of Australia’s all-time great pacer. A World Cup-winner, Johnson was one of the fastest bowlers of his time. He picked up 313 Test wickets, 239 ODI wickets and 38 T20I wickets.

His compatriot Starc is also one of the leading pacers in the world right now. Starc starred with the ball when Australia won the World Cup at home in 2015. He was also the leading wicket-taker in last year’s World Cup. In Tests, he has 244 wickets while in ODIs and T20Is, he has 178 and 43 wickets respectively.

Brendan Taylor’s fourth pick was India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah who is the least experienced in the list. Bumrah made his debut as a white-ball specialist in 2016 but is now one of the best all-format bowlers in the world. At number five, Brendan Taylor named England’s James Anderson who is his country’s leading wicket-taker in Tests but has not really made a mark in limited-overs cricket.
