The duel between Virat Kohli and Kesrick Williams has added some extra spice to the ongoing series between India and West Indies. Both the players have won one round so far. It all started in the 16th over of the first T20I in Hyderabad. After hitting Williams for a four and a six, Virat Kohli had done the bowler’s famous notebook celebration.

After the game, Kohli had revealed that he did it only because Williams had given him a send-off with the same celebration during a T20I in Jamaica a couple of years ago. Well, Williams had the last laugh in the second game as he outsmarted Virat Kohli and sent back the India skipper cheaply. After the dismissal, Williams came up with an interesting reaction.

Instead of giving Kohli a send-off, Williams decided not to fire up the India star again as he opted for a muted celebration. Only Williams know what he meant by that celebration but one can say that the fans thoroughly enjoyed it and are now looking forward to round three of the duel.

Brian Lara on the rivalry:

Just like the fans, former West Indies skipper Brian Lara is also loving the rivalry between Virat Kohli and Williams. Speaking on Star Sports, the legendary batsman said that it was the kind of healthy rivalry that the game needed.

“Couple of years ago, he signed a notebook and put Virat Kohli in his notebook. The way Virat reacted in the previous match, that’s the sort of character you want in cricket. That’s the sort of rivalry you want to see and that is healthy. It brings something to the game. Fans love it. I love it,” Lara said.

West Indies, meanwhile, beat India by eight wickets in the game to draw level in the three-match series. The third and the final T20I will be played in Mumbai on Wednesday (December 11).
