SA vs IND, 2018: BCCI Chairman CK Khanna heaps praise on Virat Kohli and Co

India won the six-match One-day International series following the fifth ODI victory by 73 runs and took an unassailable lead of 4-1 at the St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth. Virat Kohli and his men have been praised from some of the former cricketers and officials.

The Indian team has earned praises for his batting heroics and leading his team from the front. The Men in Blue won the penultimate ODI to register their first bilateral series win in the Rainbow Nation.

India won their first ODI series in South Africa since their first tour in 1992. No men’s team has ever won a series across any format on the South African soil.

Team India also climbed up to the number one spot in the ICC ODI Team Rankings. South Africa have now slipped to the number two spot.

BCCI chairman CK Khanna has lauded India’s captain Virat Kohli who led India to their first-ever bilateral series triumph the Rainbow nation.

Khanna said, “Great performance. Virat and his boys have been performing exceedingly well. They have proved that they can beat any country on their soil, and this victory, after a gap of 25 years, is a great achievement. Entire country is proud of them.”

India’s opener Rohit Sharma scored his 17th ODI century as he led the Indian team to a comfortable score of 274 for seven in their 50 overs.

In reply, the South African batting line-up surrendered once again to the Indian spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav who picked up six wickets in Port Elizabeth.

Kuldeep has now picked up 16 wickets in the five matches while Chahal, on the other hand, has 14 wickets to his name.
