West Indies’ legendary batsman, Shivnarine Chanderpaul has praised Indian captain Virat Kohli and said that he is still the best batsman in the world cricket. Virat Kohli is racking up records for fun and smashing centuries after centuries seems like a piece of cake for the flamboyant Indian skipper.

Talking about statistics, Virat Kohli has scored a total of 21, 901 runs in international cricket so far at an average of 56.15. At just 31, he has smashed a staggering 70 tons including 43 in ODIs. He has also scored more than 100 fifties in international cricket and has average of over 50 in all the three formats.

Virat has played a total of 86 Test matches so far and has scored 7240 runs at an average of 53.62 so far. He has also played 248 ODIs wherein, the star batsman has scored 11867 runs at an average of 59.33. He has also represented India in 84 T20Is and has smashed 2794 runs at an average of above 50.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul Lauds Virat Kohli

Speaking in an interview to Sportstar, Shivnarine Chanderpaul picked Kohli as the best batsman in the world. “Obviously, it’s Virat Kohli. He has been working on all the aspects of his game, and the results are showing,” he said.

“He is working hard on his fitness; he works on his skills. You see him putting in the hard work, and he is one of those guys who always wants to do well. He’s proven it, day in and day out,” the former left-handed batsman added.

“You have to give credit to him for that. It’s not easy to stay at the top of your game for so long. You got to put in your work, and the results are showing,” the 45-year-old further said.

Virat Kohli Had A Poor Outing In New Zealand

Kohli had one of the worst rough patches of his career so far during India’s tour of New Zealand. Precisely, he is not having a good time with the bat and the ‘century master’ has been relatively quiet for a long time now.
