Cricket fans across India would have felt bad when Ajeet Kumar narrowly missed out on winning a hefty amount of INR 7 crore on quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 11. A resident of Bihar, Ajeet Kumar played brilliantly to breach the 1 Crore mark. But in doing so, he exhausted all his lifelines and was on his own for the final question.

And when he came across the question, he  decided to quit the show, walking away with Rs 1 crore. Ajeet Kumar works as a jail superintendent and has been working for Indian Railways for over 15 years. He aims to become a Deputy Inspector General for which he will have to serve more than 2 years in sub-jail and 7 to 8 years in district jail.

Coming to the question that stopped him from winning Rs 7 crore was:

Who is the first cricketer to score two T20 International fifties on the same day in two different matches?

The four options were

A) Nawroz Mangal B) Mohammad Hafeez C) Mohammad Shahzad D)Shakib Al Hasan’.

Ajeet, who did not have any lifeline to refer to, decided to quit as he did not know the correct answer. Host of the show Amitabh Bachchan asked Ajeet Kumar to take a guess but he picked the wrong option. Well, the answer to the question is Mohammad Shahzad.

On 20 January 2017 during Desert T20 Challenge,  Mohammad Shahzad became the first cricketer to score two fifties in two separate international matches in a day. He scored 80 against Oman before slamming an unbeaten 52 against Ireland. The wicketkeeper-batsman, meanwhile, has not played a competitive game since being sent home midway through this year’s World Cup.

In August this year, Afghanistan Cricket Board banned him from playing any form of cricket after he breached of a policy that requires players to seek the board’s permission before travelling out of the country.
