Former India opener Gautam Gambhir, who entered politics, never shies away helping others. It does not matter whether a struggling cricketer or a commoner asks for his help, the legendary batsman rarely disappoints them. He has now come up with a similar gesture as he came to the rescue of a girl who asked for his help.

Earlier this month, the girl tweeted to Gambhir, stating that she was being molested by her cricket coach. She also claimed that the coach was giving her rape threats. Asking Gautam Gambhir for his help, the girl, tweeted:

“hello sir i am a female cricketer from delhi and my coach is molesting me and trying to rape me. He is threatening me that he will destroy my carrer if i will complain. Please help me sir.”

Realising the seriousness of the issue, Gautam Gambhir, who won the general election from East Delhi last year, immediately asked the girl for her phone number. The girl duly obliged and the ex-India cricketer did not take long to take action.

And on Wednesday, Gautam Gambhir confirmed that he indeed took a swift action over the incident. The ex-cricketer-turned-politician took to Twitter to announce that the culprit has been arrested by the police. He also stated that the girl is being counselled so that she can overcome the traumatic incident, tweeting:

“Few days ago, a girl reached out to me that her cricket coach was sexually harassing her. He is now behind bars & the girl is being counselled to overcome the ordeal. Thank Hon’ble HM
@AmitShah ji & @DelhiPolice for quick response!  We should have NO tolerance for such monsters!”

A few weeks ago, Gautam Gambhir had also helped a girl who asked for his assistance for the treatment of her father. He had also welcomed a minor girl, Omaima Ali, from Pakistan and her parents after they were granted visas to travel to India for medical purpose following his intervention.
