Team India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane was disappointed after ICC World Cup 2019 in England snub. Rahane was to be in the squad with the management struggling to fix the No. 4 slot. But the snub left the cricketer in a state of shock and Rahane revealed that conversations with National Cricket Academy (NCA) Director, Rahul Dravid helped him overcome the disappointment.

The All India National Selection Committee headed by MSK Prasad ignored Rahane despite India struggling with their middle-order. They failed to fix their No. 4 slot which hurt them badly during the premier competition. The selectors also didn’t consider him even they had to pick two replacements in place of Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar.

“At times, we get too caught up in our pursuit of success and then we suddenly realise that we are required to just stop, sit back and introspect. I did exactly that when I wasn’t selected for the 2019 World Cup,” Rahane said to PTI. “Conversations with Rahul bhai also helped me get those answers that I should keep my batting really simple.
