As expected, Carribean Premier League 2018 (CPL 2018) is keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. Recently, we came across players showing their batting and bowling skills, and now, it is the turn of Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting to entertain fans with his fielding.
The fast bowling all-rounder pulled off a sensational catch at long-on to see Cameron Delport walking back to the hut. The effort by Cutting easily finds a place in one of the best catches in the CPL list.
As it happened:
It was on the last ball of the fourteenth over when Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah Riyad sprinted in to deliver the ball to Cameron Bancroft.
The South African swashbuckling batsman tried to loft it over long-on for a six but eventually missed on the elevation.
Although Delport hasn’t got enough elevation, he struck the ball pretty fiercely. Even though the ball went with quite a speed, the lanky Cutting took a stunner with his non-dominating hand thus bringing the cheers for Guyanese fans.
The effort from Cutting was magical which even left Delport in a shock. Coming to the match report, it was Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) who won the toss and asked St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to bat first.
However, Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis batted beautifully to stitch 71-run partnership for the first wicket. It was Keemo Paul, who gave the first breakthrough and then followed the magical spell by leg-spinner Imran Tahir.
In reply, the collective batting effort by the Guyana Amazon’s lineup saw them bagging yet another two points. At one stage, it looked like St Kitts were winning the game, but the smashing hits from Sohail Tanvir’s willow changed the course of the game.
The South African veteran spinner Imran Tahir was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his four wickets in four overs. He gave away 22 runs in his spell. Amazon Warriors currently sits at second place in points table while St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are at 4th.
