Cricket Fraternity Sends Greetings To Ravichandran Ashwin As He Celebrates His 33rd Birthday

Ravichandran Ashwin, the star off-spinner of India and also the owner of many records in International cricket is celebrating his 33rd birthday tonight. Meanwhile, the cricket fraternity sent their birthday greetings to the man from Chennai, who registered quite a few unbreakable records to his name.

Ashwin is the fastest-ever bowler to reach 300 Test wickets, and has an impressive record of 342 wickets in 65 Tests, at an average of 25.44. In 2016, he won the coveted gong of the ICC Cricketer of The Year, and he was most recently playing in the English county championship for Nottinghamshire.

Ravichandran Ashwin is the fastest to pick 300 Test wickets:

From making waves in Tamil Nadu’s domestic circuit to claiming the numero uno spot in ICC Test bowlers’ rankings, Ashwin has enjoyed an enormous amount of success with the ball and has bamboozled the best batters around the world.

His impressive record of 342 wickets in 65 Tests, at an average of 25.44 presents a strong testimony to his calibre as the world’s leading spinner. Ashwin also has 150 scalps to his name from 111 ODIs while donning the coloured outfit for the national side.

Despite being such a brilliant bowler, he was kept out of the playing Xi against West Indies in the recently-concluded Test. It certainly caught all the eyeballs of the analysts and the former cricketers. Now, he is once again in the team for the upcoming series against South African, against whom, he had a tremendous record.

Ashwin also has four Test centuries to his name and has played some crucial knocks for India over the years. Even though he finds himself out of favour currently as far as the Indian limited-overs sides are concerned, he is still an extremely important asset to the Indian Test team, especially in home series’.

He has also played a pivotal role in making India the top-ranked Test team in the world. For his fabulous cricketing achievements, the world body of cricket – ICC adjudged him ‘Cricketer of the Year’ and ‘Test Player of the Year’ in December 2016.
