The swashbuckling Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan graced the beautiful planet earth on this very day, 34 years ago. Fans from all across the globe including his teammates and former cricketer poured in on social media sites to congratulate the fun-loving cricketer, who over the years have formed a formidable opening pair alongside Rohit Sharma in the limited-overs format for India.

Meanwhile, Dhawan is currently out of action owing to an injury. He copped up a blow while playing for Delhi in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and is now undergoing rehabilitation. Initially, the selectors drafted Shikhar Dhawan in both the T20I and ODI squads but had to strike him off leading to the series against West Indies. In form wicket-keeper batsman from Kerla, Sanju Samson has replaced him in the team.

The southpaw, however, has not been in the best of form with the bat. He has struggled to put runs on the board consistently since the finger injury he suffered during the ICC World Cup 2019 which ruled him out of the competition. With Shikhar Dhawan out of touch, many have opined the management to use KL Rahul alongside Rohit Sharma at the top in limited-overs. With Dhawan surviving on the firing line, the untimely injury will make things worse.

Speaking about his birthday, wishes galore for Dhawan on all social media sites since the clock ticked 12 on midnight. People from all spheres came forward to wish the celebrated Team India opener including his teammates like Cheteshwar Pujara, Suresh Raina, and Harbhajan Singh among many.
