Cricket South Africa has resolved the issue after their Twitter account was hacked overnight. The International Cricket Council had also taken to their Twitter handle to inform the fans about the hack. The ICC handler had also informed the fans to not engage with the account until the problem is resolved.
Subsequently, Cricket South Africa took to their account to inform that the problem has been rectified. Meanwhile, South Africa is currently locking horns with Pakistan in the third Test match at the Wanderers, Johannesburg.
The account is back.
The hosts have already clinched the three-match series as they are leading by 2-0. They had won the first Test match by six wickets and then won the second by nine wickets. However, their full-time captain Faf du Plessis was suspended due to slow over-rate.
Hence, their opener Dean Elgar is leading the side in the ongoing third Test match. Pakistan is currently 153-3 after completion of the third day of the Test match. The tourists need another 228 runs for the win with seven wickets in hand.
Proteas gloveman Quinton de Kock had scored a majestic knock of 129 runs in the second innings to give a steep target to the visitors. Meanwhile, Dale Steyn is two wickets away from leapfrogging Kapil Dev’s Test wickets tally.
South Africa and Pakistan will lock horns in five One Day Internationals and three T20Is after the completion of the Test series.
ICC took to their account to share the news. The post read as, “? Please be aware that the @OfficialCSA Twitter account has been compromised. Our friends in South Africa are working hard to resolve the situation quickly.
Please do not click on any links or engage with the account until such time as this is rectified”.
