The former India skipper, MS Dhoni stepped into this 37th birthday, and the greetings have been pouring in from all quarters for the India stalwart.
Although MS started a bit slow, he picked the gear at the right time to finish on a high. He remained unbeaten on 32 off 24 deliveries including five boundaries. It will give him enough confidence for the matches to come. However, the hosts banked on Alex Hales to chase down the target in the last over of the game.
The maestro also achieved the feat of playing 500 international games. Furthermore, he became the second Indian to do so after Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid.
Dhoni made his India debut back in 2004 in an ODI against Bangladesh and since then have played 500 games across formats.
While Dhoni is still a part of the limited-overs side, he retired from Tests in 2014. Dhoni is also the only captain in the history of cricket to win three ICC trophies.
However, among all the wishes, the messages from his former colleagues and current ones stood. While some wished for a brighter future, many young cricketers thanked him for shaping their careers.
Here is what the cricketers have to say about Dhoni:
