Dale Steyn Shuts Down An Indian Fan For Mocking South Africa's Test Win Against England

South Africa made a resounding comeback in the Test arena beating England by 107 runs in the Boxing Day Test at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. The Proteas made an unbelievable comeback after going down 0-3 in their last outing against India. Post the victory, veteran fast bowler Dale Steyn blasted an Indian fan on social media for mocking South Africa’s emphatic win.

With a target of 376 is set on a spicy pitch in Centurion, only a few expected the game to go this deep. But England have lost their old tradition of winning game away from home and putting up fighting performances. They were all set to take the game home after a resounding start in pursuit of the target, but South Africa showed great character to bounce back in the match.

Dale Steyn blasts an Indian fan on Twitter

Dominic Sibley and Rory Burns have England the perfect start with a 92-run stand for the opening wicket. Skipper Joe Root and Joe Denly also showed fighting spirit to have the host in track with 158 for three and then at 204 for four. But Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nrotje displayed great spirit sharing seven wickets between them to help South Africa bounce back after a humiliating defeat against India a few months back. Only Jos Buttler of the last six batsmen managed to touch the double-digit as England fell on the wrong side of the match to go 1-0 down.

Dale Steyn, who announced his Test retirement earlier this year, took this opportunity to congratulate South Africa on this emphatic win. The legendary fast bowler praised skipper Faf du Plessis and newly-appointed head coach Mark Boucher for the turnaround.

“Well done to the Proteas! Mark and Faf seem to have put together a team that looks hungry, has fight, but above all look menacing with real intent towards their skill. All characteristics that I grew up with when I played under Smith and co. Gr8 to see the boys back! #proteas,” Dale Steyn wrote on Twitter.

However, an Indian fan tried to mock South Africa’s win on Dale Steyn’s post which didn’t go well with the cricketer and he blasted the fan without any further delay. Going by the logic given by the Twitter user, Steyn said that India’s victory on their home soil also doesn’t count if this win doesn’t matter for the Proteas.

“I guess India in India also doesn’t count then either… And just by the way, God has nothing to do with this. Idiot,” Steyn blasted the fan.
