Australia head coach Darren Lehmann has dismissed England all-rounder Moeen Ali’s Test cricket fears. Meanwhile, Lehmann is currently in South Africa with the Australia team. The visitors will play a four-match Test series against the Proteas.

Moeen seemed worried about the viability of the Test format following his participation in the Ashes. Meanwhile, England suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss in the five-match Ashes series. Further, Moeen had a disappointing series throughout failing both with bat and ball.

Moeen said the crowd were quite disappointing in Australia. Further, he compared them to those packed stands at smaller venues in England.

Lehmann dismisses Moeen Ali’s fear:

However, Lehmann dismissed the concern showed by Ali while talking to cricket.com.au. Lehmann feels Ashes crowd were fantastic and admitted the crowd broke all the records.

No, I don’t,” Lehmann said. “I thought the Ashes crowds were fantastic, our crowds were great. I think they broke all records, whether they were at the ground or watching, streaming or listening on the radio. It was an outstanding Test series. I’m not sure where that comes from, from Moeen, but that’s his opinion,” Lehmann added.

Lehmann further admitted the results weren’t the fair reflection of how the contest took place. Also, Lehmann revealed England played good cricket.

From my point of view as a cricket fan, I loved it. It was great. I thought it was intense cricket. The games could have gone either way. Four-nil wasn’t probably a fair reflection of how England played. I thought they played quite well. “For me, I think Test cricket is alive, and we only had to see the way people turned up to the whole game throughout the summer,” Lehmann mentioned.

Meanwhile, Lehmann feels the upcoming series will be exciting to watch which starts from March 1.
