Banned Australian cricketer, David Warner has returned to action in Australia for the first time since the ball-tampering scandal at Cape Town.

The disgraced batsman Warner admitted that he is keen to return to the national team-post the suspension period.

Meanwhile, Cricket Australia (CA) sanctioned Warner for his role in the scandal in South Africa. The Board banned him from First-class cricket and List A cricket for 12 months. However, he can play offshore and at at the lowest level owing to the domestic cricket.

The southpaw Warner returned to cricket in a Global T20 League in Canada and made his first appearance in Austalia on Saturday (July 21). He opened the batting for City Cyclones in the NT Strike League scoring 36 off 32 balls.

Speaking after the match, Warner revealed that he loves playing cricket and will continue doing that.

I’m here to play cricket and I love doing thatI wouldn’t be here today and continue to keep working my backside off to keep scoring runs for each team that I play for if I didn’t love it. I wouldn’t be here, I’d probably retire,” Warner added.

The former vice-captain for Australia, Warner also admitted he is desperate to return to the national fold. He said that this is just the stepping stone and he will continue to amass runs wherever he plays.

I’ll be putting my hand up as much as I canThis (competition in Darwin) is just a little stepping stone to continue my progress to enable myself to keep scoring as many runs as I can for every single team I play for in the next eight months,” he continued.

In conclusion, David Warner noted that he is on good terms with Cameron Bancroft. He also noted that they have worked their way through the suspensions and had socialised together in Darwin.
