Delhi Capitals became the first team in IPL 2020 to virtually qualify in the playoffs. The capital franchise look like a rejuvenated side which is set to improve their performance from the previous season. Delhi Capitals had qualified for the playoffs for the first time in seven years last season.
There is a high chance of Delhi Capitals clinching their maiden IPL season this year. Shreyas Iyer has lead his young troop brilliantly under the coaching of the most successful Australian captain Ricky Ponting. It has also helped him learn early ropes of captaincy from the master himself.

Shimron Hetmyer is still to perform at the best of his ability but he believes that the side is full of match-winners and it has gelled up well as an unit. The West Indies’ powerhouse also mentioned that each player is determined about the role that he has to play and thus in every game there is a new individual stepping up.
“I feel our team is full of match-winner and there’s no doubt about it,” Shimron Hetmyer told The Times of India.
“Each player is determined about what role he has been asked to play. In each game, you see a different individual stepping up and getting the team through the line and that’s what our story has been so far in this tournament,” he added.
Delhi Capitals have Shreyas Iyer leading fellow youngsters like Hetmyer, Kagiso Rabada, Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant in their ranks. Senior India opener Shikhar Dhawan only adds to the experience of their squad. They are also be bolstered with the presence of premier India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the side.
