It was a comical error when Ajinkya Rahane mistakenly celebrated his hundred even before reaching it. Rahane thought he has reached the magical three-digit mark when he was three runs short of his century. Thus, Rahane who was leading India C in the Deodhar Trophy 2018 went on to raise his bat to the dressing room. In fact, there was some confusion as the scoreboard read Ajinkya Rahane’s score as 100 when he was on 97 runs.

However, Suresh Raina went on to signal to his captain that he was originally three runs short of his hundred. In fact, Rahane was eventually able to get to his hundred as he scored a fine knock of 144 off 156 balls.

The right-hander scored nine fours and three sixes in his sensational knock. Thus, India C was able to post an above par total of 352 in their allotted 50 overs.

In response, India B scored 323 runs. Thus, India C went on to win the match against India B by 29 runs and lifted the Deodhar Trophy 2018. Subsequently, India C skipper Rahane was awarded the Man of the Match.

India C wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan scored a fine knock of 114 balls off just 87 balls. Therefore, the attacking southpaw batsman was able to put a partnership of 210 runs with Rahane for the opening stand.

In response, India B skipper Shreyas Iyer scored a fine knock of 148 off just 114 balls. The Mumbai batsman scored 11 fours and eight maximums in his blistering innings.
