There is absolutely no denying that MS Dhoni’s days in international cricket are now numbered. In fact, it would not be very surprising if he does not play for India again. The former India skipper has not donned the famous blue jersey since the semifinal loss to New Zealand in the World Cup. MS Dhoni, who retired from Tests in 2014, had scored a fighting fifty in that game.
The speculations are rife over his retirement ever since the World Cup ended in July. At first, there were reports that MS Dhoni would hang up his boots at the end of India’s campaign in the tournament.
The 38-year old, however, sprung a massive surprise by taking a sabbatical from the game and then went on to extend it. There was absolutely no clarity over his future as neither him, nor the the selectors made things clear. MS Dhoni missed the tour of West Indies and then the home series against South Africa but still remained in the spotlight.

Well, things became a bit clear last week when the MSK Prasad-led selection panel announced the T20I and the Test squads for the upcoming series against Bangladesh. Prasad made it clear that the selectors are moving on from Dhoni and will try out youngsters. Consequently, the retained Rishabh Pant in the team and recalled Sanju Samson as a backup.
As of now, MS Dhoni has not muttered a single world on his future. The legendary captain is known for keeping things private and he is doing the same once again. However, on Monday (October 28), his name started trending on Twitter as fans started giving him tribute by stating that the wicketkeeper-batsman is retiring. There is, however, no official update on the same.
