Journalist Arnab Goswami, who is known for his bold remarks, is facing the heat across social media for allegedly calling the legendary Sachin Tendulkar anti-national. The event transpired after Goswami was having a debate on his channel regarding the Pulwama attack and Tendulkar’s comment on it. The attack, which was carried out by Pakistani militant group Jaish-E-Mohammed, had claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnels.

Since the attack, there has been widespread call to boycott Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup. Not only the general public but the likes of Harbhajan Singh and Sourav Ganguly had also said backed the proposal. However, Sachin Tendulkar was one of the few who wanted otherwise. The batting legend took to Twitter to state that India should not give away two points to Pakistan which would help the latter. He, however, went on to say that he would eventually back the decision that would be the best for the nation.

“India has always come up trumps against Pakistan in the World Cup. Time to beat them once again. Would personally hate to give them two points and help them in the tournament. Having said that, for me India always comes first, so whatever my country decides, I will back that decision with all my heart,” Sachin had tweeted.

However, Tendulkar’s statement did not go down too well with Arnab Goswami as he launched a scathing  attack towards Tendulkar.  Goswami launched a hashtag #ShameOnAntiNationals and asked Sachin to ‘take his two points and put it in the dustbin.’

“I don’t believe in any Gods. Sachin Tendulkar is 100 percent wrong. Sachin Tendulkar, if he has any sense, he should realise that he should be the first person to say that don’t play with Pakistan,” Arnab Goswami had said on his show while arguing with Ashutosh, a former TV journalist.

As a result of his remarks, Goswami has been slammed across social media. Fans have taken a shot at him for calling Tendulkar anti-national. However, Goswami had not called Tendulkar anti-national even once. And the video of the show would confirm that while Goswami did slam Tendulkar for his comments, it was Ashutosh, a politician from the Aam Aadmi Party, who was challenging the journalist to call the former cricketer an anti-national.

Here is a clip of that heated discussion:
