Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has risked the ire of Indian public once again by taking a dig at India. The allrounder was recently slammed across social media after supporting Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s comment on the Pulwama attack.  In the wake of the ghastly attack, there has been an uproar in the entire country against Pakistan. The public has demanded boycott of Pakistan in every possible sector including cricket.

On last Thursday, more than 40 CRPF jawans were killed after a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into one of the vans of the military convoy at the Jammu-Srinagar highway. There are now calls to boycott Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup in a show of protest. However, Afridi not only slammed India for putting the blame on Pakistan but also took a dig at them.

“Without any proof they are putting all the blame onto Pakistan straight away. PM Imran Khan has once again spoken on this matter in a positive & clear way to explain that Pakistan wants to have good relations with not only India, but also Afghanistan, Iran & China,” Afridi was quoted as saying by a Pakistan journalist.

IMG-Reliance had recently cut its ties with the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League.  IMG-Reliance had signed a deal to produce television coverage of the ongoing PSL.  Before that, DSport, which was broadcasting the game in India, had also stopped the coverage. When asked about it, Afridi took a sly dig at India, saying educated people do not behave in such a manner.

“You find out who your friends are at difficult times. What are they trying to show the world that they are educated? Educated people don’t behave in such a manner.”

India, meanwhile, are scheduled to take on Pakistan in the World Cup on June 16 in Manchester. However, latest reports suggest that the BCCI is likely to request the ICC to not allow Pakistan in the World Cup for harbouring terrorism.
