It is an excellent time to be Dinesh Karthik. The 33-year-old cricketer has touched fine form in 2018. From being out in the cold to establish himself as a finisher, Karthik’s journey has been an inspirational one. However, he recently helped India level the T20I series after playing a pivotal role yet again. Since the Nidahas Trophy final cameo against Bangladesh, the orthodox batter has come of age.

Also, he leads the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Though the batter no longer keeps wickets for India, he still manages to find a place as a pure batsman. Meanwhile, he is one of the rare cricketers who is also considered to be witty and intelligent.

Of late, Karthik took time out to get involved in a question-answer session on Instagram. He asked his followers to shoot out questions to him, and he answered them well too. The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer revealed his favourite actor as Rajnikanth. There were no brownie points for guessing his favourite moment of the 2018 calendar year. It had got to be him holding the Nidahas Trophy; therefore he replied with a picture of him holding the cup.

During this one, Dinesh defined his colleague, Shikhar Dhawan as the ‘coolest’ one while reserving the tag of ‘sexy’ for KL Rahul. However, Karthik had played the role of a finisher on multiple occasions. He can relate to it now,

“That’s my role here, when there’s pressure, absorb the pressure, try and help the team win. As a senior player, that’s my role in the team. At the same time, play confident cricket. It was important that the good bowlers were seen through.” he said post the match-winning knock against Australia in Sydney.
