Yograj Singh, former India cricketer and father of Yuvraj Singh, has criticised Sanjay Manjrekar for his comments on India allrounder Ravindra Jadeja. Sanjay Manjrekar did not make too many fans with his recent comments regarding Jadeja. Manjrekar had caused a stir by saying that he does not like ‘bit and pieces’ cricketer Jadeja.

Manjrekar had controversially called Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer after the latter failed to make it to India’s playing eleven in the World Cup. The matter then escalated when Jadeja came across the comment and hit back at Jadeja.

Jadeja had slammed Manjrekar on Twitter. But that was not the end. After Jadeja’s fine outing against Sri Lanka, Manjrekar included him in his predicted playing XI for India’s semifinal against New Zealand. But hours before the game, he said that India should not play Jadeja. India, however, included Jadeja in their playing eleven and he turned out to their best performer.

Jadeja picked up a brilliant wicket while conceding just 34 runs in ten overs. He was equally superb in the field where he pulled off a great run out and a catch. Jadeja did even better with the bat, scoring a fighting fifty although it went in vain. But Manjrekar has been facing the heat since then and now Yograj Singh has also slammed him for the same.

“I want to ask Sanjay Manjrekar – You have played for India. Don’t you feel ashamed to use words like these. MS Dhoni is playing slow because he has aged. Make him play at number four. The words you have used for Jadeja and Dhoni do not suit you,” Yograj Singh told NNIS Sports.

“You have played for India. You are son of Manjrekar Sir who played so many games for India. These words don’t suit you,” he added.
