Just like she has managed to come out on top in a cricket field every time she came under pressure, Indian women team’s inspirational captain Mithali Raj has shown she can come out with flying colours in tough situations off the field too.
Few days after becoming the toast of the nation with her exceptional performance in this year’s Women World Cup where she led the Women in Blue to the final, she was targetted with sexist comments for her dress. It all began when she posted an old photo on Twitter last week.
Following is the tweet posted by her:

However, she soon faced an unwanted backlash from a section of fans who insisted that the dress was inappropriate. Here are some of the replies on her tweet:

But the 33-year old, who is the leading run-scorer in One-Day Internationals, has come up with a fitting reply for her critics as without bothering about any reaction, she posted another picture on Twitter in a similar dress.
Here is her latest tweet:
Life is about #Balance.
Be content but never stop improving yourself!#TuesdayThoughts #ThrowbackTuesday pic.twitter.com/b7AAIaLkTT— Mithali Raj (@M_Raj03) September 12, 2017
Meanwhile, she also received some encouraging words from her fans this time around.
Proud of you lady

Meanwhile, Mithali has also received support from several fellow athletes after she was targetted for her dress. The likes of Vinesh Phogat and Robin Uthappa not only slammed the critics but also commended their narrow thinking.
Mithali Raj being treated badly by some silly minds. It's disappointing to see our culture stuck in the same rut @M_Raj03 #MithaliRaj pic.twitter.com/VgdOdoxdoX

Why is it that only women are always questioned on what they wear. Why not men?? When will this change? #everydaysexism #MithaliRaj ??
