England finished the morning session of day 2 of the second Test on a high after James Anderson pegged back twice against India at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The second Test some daylight after a complete washout on the opening day of the match. England skipper Joe Root won the toss only to bowl first considering the overcast condition of the pitch.

Both the sides made two changes going into the second Test. India brought in incumbent Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara after missing the first Test in place of Shikhar Dhawan. Furthermore, they swapped both the Yadavs – Kuldeep comes in for Umesh.

For England, they had to make a forced change as Ben Stokes, who is undergoing a court trial missed. The hosts brought a like to like replacement bringing in experienced Chris Woakes. Woakes is coming from an injury lay-off and will look to come good. Interestingly, the 20-year-old Ollie Pope comes to side in place of Dawid Malan, who was going through a lean patch. Pope had a good domestic season and will look to continue his good form.

Meanwhile, England got off to a flier riding on James Anderson’s heroics. once again stamped his authority and proved why he is known as the lord of the Lord’s.
