The wicketkeeper-batsman of England, Jos Buttler was famous for his standard readymade in the limited-overs game. However, he changed himself recently to switch from the white-ball cricket to the Test format.

The transformation of Buttler is a life taking lesson for all the batsmen around the world. In this air when lavishly T20 leagues surround us, players wish to mesh their games with unconventional strokes.

It generally was accepted that T20 format is nowhere matching the quality of Test cricket. However, Jos Buttler altered this very trend.
Buttler managed to buck this trend.

After a sizzling performance in Indian Premier League (IPL) for Rajasthan Royals, Buttler got an opportunity to play the Test cricket.

His selection in Test Cricket

Jos Buttler had to cut down his stint with Rajasthan Royals to display his skills in Test skills against Pakistan. He performed well, as he scored half-centuries in both the Tests. He was the top scorer for either side at the end of the series.

His success in recent past forced England selectors to award him Test vice-captainship. In the pivotal five-matches Test series against India, he will be doing his duty as vice-captain of England.

Interestingly, there is an Indian hand in Buttler’s metamorphosis. And by that, we do not mean just the IPL. In his recent past, Buttler gave credits to India’s Anand Chulani. He is a leading mental conditioning expert and success coach working with Rajasthan Royals.

Anand Chulani on Buttler

Speaking to media, Chulani talked about the journey between the duo.

“Jos has always had the talent, but he said that he put a lot of pressure on himself. When you come to the subcontinent for IPL, foreign players have price tag pressure and the need to perform at this stage, it [pressure] can happen. The whole thing was to get him outside of that internal pressure. The game itself has external pressure, why to create internal pressure, that’s what I stressed on with him,” Chulani said.
