ENG vs IND 2018: Fans Hilariously Troll James Vince For 'Wrap The Series Up' Tweet

Updated - 27 Aug 2018, 12:07 PM

James Vince must have thought of receiving some positive feedback from the fans when he took to Twitter to celebrate the recall from England for the fourth England vs India Test.

England added James Vince to their 14-man squad for the game, starting at the Ageas Bowl next Thursday (August 30). Vince will provide cover for Jonny Bairstow, who sustained a fractured finger during England’s defeat at Trent Bridge.

The 27-year-old last played Test cricket for England in April against New Zealand. He was later dropped at the start of the home summer. He, however, has been in good form of late, scoring 74 and 147 against Nottinghamshire this month. Vince also averages 56 in the County championship this season. He is likely to get in the playing eleven if Bairstow fails to recover from the injury.

Meanwhile, Vince decided to celebrate the recall with his fans on Twitter. He posted a message thanking his supporters but managed to give the fans reason to take a shot at him by writing that there is ‘no better place to wrap the series up’.

“Thank you for the messages of support. Very excited to be joining up with the squad @TheAgeasBowl next week. No better place to wrap the series up,” he wrote.

With India convincingly winning the third Test, Vince’s tweet did not go down well with the fans and they did not waste much time in trolling him.

Here are some of the reactions:

Meanwhile, England lead the five-match England vs India series 2-1. However, the momentum is currently with India after their thumping win in the third Test. Virat Kohli & Co. thrashed the hosts by 203 runs to set up a thrilling series.
