Fans are not pleased with Indian selectors’ decision to ignore Rohit Sharma again for the last two England vs India Tests.

India, on Wednesday, named the squad for the last two Tests. And the selectors sprung two huge surprises. The MSK-Prasad led side included uncapped duo of Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari. However, there was no trace of Rohit in the Test squad.

India’s limited-overs vice-captain is one of the most sought after players in white-ball cricket. Rohit is the only batsman to score three double centuries in ODI cricket. He has also played 25 Test matches for India and has scored 1479 runs at shade under 40 per innings. The batsman, however, is currently out of favour in the five-day format.

The reason behind the same is his failure in red-ball cricket. Rohit had started his Test career in style, slamming two centuries in his first two Tests. But the early promise was not the precursor of the things that were to follow. His technique in testing conditions outside the Indian sub-continent has time and again come under scanner. Rohit lost his place in the Test side after managing only 78 runs in four innings against South Africa earlier this year.

But despite that, the fans were unhappy to see Rohit being ignored from the Test squad once again and took to Twitter to express their displeasure.

Here are some of the reactions from the fans:

Meanwhile, Rohit recently said he wants to play Tests and is doing his bit to make a comeback to the Test side.

“I want to be part of the (Test) team, but it is not in my hands. I have to wait for the opportunity, whenever it comes, I have to be ready for it. To be ready, I am doing everything, training, doing as much as possible to give myself the best chance when the opportunity comes there,” he had said at an promotional event.
