Stuart Broad and James Anderson tore apart India’s batting lineup as England thrashed the visitors by an innings and 159 runs in the second England vs India Test to go two nil up in the series. India were all out for just 130.
Trailing by a mammoth 289 runs, India were off to a disastrous start. Murali Vijay and KL Rahul continued to struggle as India could not get a good start once again.
Anderson dismissed Vijay for a duck to give England a flying start before dismissing Rahul to put England on top. At lunch, India were 17 for 2. The break brought India the much-needed respite. However, it was very short lived as English bowlers did not waste much time in making further inroads in the game once the second session started.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane could add only 18 runs after the break before Stuart Broad dismissed the latter. 15 runs later, Broad castled Pujara to put England on top. Any chances of avoiding an innings then soon evaporated after Broad removed skipper Virat Kohli to leave India reeling at 61 for 5.
On the very next delivery, he accounted for Dinesh Karthik to all but seal India’s fate.
It looked like India would struggle to cross even their modest 107 of the first innings but R Ashwin and Hardik Pandya stopped the rot. The duo stitched together a 55-run stand to help India cross the 100-run mark. Chris Woakes broke the stand by dismissing Pandya. The lower-order could not delay the inevitable for long as India were all out for 130.
Earlier in the day, centurion Chris Woakes and Sam Curran started the proceedings with the bat. The two continued to pile more miseries on the visitors by scoring quick runs. The two added 40 runs to the overnight score of 357 before Joe Root decided to declare the moment Curran was caught at third man.

Suddenly Karun Nair seems like VVS Laxman, Rishabh Pant like Dhoni and people are talking about future Sachin Tendulkar in Prithvi Shaw. They seem like our next big hope. So much for watching Lord's Test.

Dinesh Karthik walks out with the swagger of Viv Richards. And leaves with the swagger of Viv Ricihards. What happens in between is another matter. #Karthik #ENGvIND #INDvENG

We should not judge @mvj888 based on a couple of failures. We should look into his past statistics of overseas tests. They are even worse. #ENGvIND
