Indian skipper Virat Kohli was spotted with a doppelganger of Vijay Mallya during the warm-up match against Essex at Chelmsford. Kohli posed with a group of fans during the three-day practice game.

Meanwhile, Mallya is charged with a plethora of charges. He absconded from India following his controversial money fraud of thousands of crore rupees.

Interestingly, Mallya is also the former owner of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the franchise for which Kohli plays.

The Indian skipper scored 12 boundaries in his knock.

Meanwhile, the three-day practice match ended in a stalemate when halted the game. However, it turned out as a good warm-up game for the tourists to get acclimatized to the English conditions.

Furthermore, KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya were able to get themselves amongst the runs.

All these batsmen scored half-centuries in the first innings. However, Shikhar Dhawan bagged a pair as he returned on duck in both innings.

Speedster Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma were able to scalp four and three wickets respectively in the first innings.

In fact, the onus is on these two pacers in the absence of injured Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar respectively.

In fact, Indian bowling line-up had scalped all 60 wickets on the South African tour. Thus, the bowling battery will be confident of delivering the goods in the English conditions.

The first Test will take place at Edgbaston in Birmingham from August 1. India had last savoured success on England soil in 2007 when Rahul Dravid led side won by a margin of 1-0.
