Australia’s rookie skipper, Tim Paine will continue with the tradition of shaking hands before the game.

Paine confirmed he would ask England skipper, Eoin Morgan, to do the same before the first ODI. Australia is on tour of England for five-match ODI series and one T20I. The first match will be played on Wednesday at Kennington Oval, London.

Meanwhile, Tim Paine had started the new fashion of shaking hands before the match. The wicketkeeper-batsman had asked Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis for the same before the fourth Test match in South Africa.

Paine had decided to begin a new chapter in the Australian cricket after it was hit hard by the ball-tampering scandal.

It is a great initiative taken by Tim Paine.

However, two cricket teams always shake hands after the completion of a match. Thus, it would be great if they do so before the game commences. We have noticed the same trend in sports like Football and Hockey.

Speaking to the Press ahead of the first One-Dayer, Paine revealed he is going to ask Morgan for the same.

Australian captain Tim Paine said, “Yes, I will. They don’t have to do it but I will certainly ask. It’s something I said in South Africa. I would like to bring in to start a series. We won’t be doing it in every game but it’s a good show of sportsmanship before a series starts”.

Paine was also asked that what it will take on the pitch to rebuild that trust. The Aussie skipper said that they would have to do it by their actions.

The Aussie skipper added, “Again, I think it’s just living our actions. We’ve spoken about our values internally as a team and how we want to be perceived by the Australian public and cricket public in general. So words are words and come Wednesday it is time for us to act on those words and show it by our actions”.

Paine has also spoken about playing the game in the right spirit. Consequently, the new skipper also wants to show more respect to their opponents than they have done in the past.
