Amid all the uncertainties due to the pandemic situation, the England tour of India in September might be postponed, according to a report in InsideSport. The tour was supposed to be played in between September and October comprising of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

However, the report quoting an anonymous BCCI official has claimed that there is no doubt that the England tour of India will be postponed. The board official also pointed out that the situation in India due to the pandemic does not favours the bi-lateral series to take place and thus might be rescheduled.

“Yes, without any doubt the tour of England team will be postponed. Where is the chance to conduct the series in such an atmosphere, we will have to reschedule it”, said one of the BCCI official to InsideSport.

It the report is confirmed, it will mean that India will not resume its international ties before 2021.

Furthermore, England are supposed to tour India for a five-match Test series in January 2021. According to InsideSport, the T20I and ODI series which was supposed to take place in September, might now be accommodated with the tour in January.

However, amid all the speculations about the series being postponed the cricket board is still to confirm its stance.
