England leveled the three-match series against India with a thumping 86-run win in the second ODI at Lord’s on Sunday.

Batting first, the hosts rode on Joe Root’s century to post a challenging 322 for seven. Eoin Morgan and David Willey also scored the fifties to help England put up a good total in the must-win clash.

In reply, India rarely looked in contention to chase down the total. They lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually all out for 236.

With the game now done and dusted, here is a look at some interesting numbers and stats from the game:

1. The century was Root’s 12th in ODIs, helping him go level with Marcus Trescothick, as the scorer of most ODI centuries for England.

2. It was the first time England elected to bat first in 12 ODI matches where they won the toss. The last time they chose to bat first was in the 2016 Dhaka ODI against Bangladesh.

3. David Willey reached his fifty off just 30 balls which is the fastest at the venue and the joint fastest by any England player against India. Chris Old also scored a 30-ball fifty at this venue in a 1975 World Cup match.

4. MS Dhoni completed 300 ODI catches in the game, thus becoming the first Indian and fourth overall to achieve this feat.

5. England’s total of 322/7 in this game is their 4th highest total at the Lord’s in ODI cricket. Three of those four totals have come against India.

6. MS Dhoni has now scored 10,004 runs in ODIs. He became the fourth Indian and 12th overall to achieve this feat. The former India skipper is also the 5th quickest to reach the milestone, taking 273 innings. He is the 2nd wicketkeeper to score 10,000 ODI runs after Kumar Sangakkara.
