India is all set to clinch a memorable victory against England when they take the field on day five of the Trent Bridge Test.

After a couple of defeats in the five-match Test series, not many would have given India a chance to put up such a dominating performance. They have been quite spectacular in all three departments of the game and is just a wicket away from clinch a sensational victory.

In fact, there have been ten such instances when a batting team has finished the penultimate day with nine wickets down. On all ten occasions, the batting team went onto lose the match on the final day of the Test.

The first time when this happened was back in 1894-95 when England defeated Australia. It was early days after the invention of the game. International cricket had started a just a few years earlier. England won the match by 94 runs at the iconic MCG. Back in 1967-68, India went on to lose a game against Australia at Adelaide from a similar situation.

They eventually lost the match by 146 runs. India will look to make it the 11th instance, as they look set to win the 3rd Test in Nottingham.

The Indian team lost by a slender margin of 31 runs in the first Test. Even in the second game, they got outplayed in all departments by England.

But they have made a tremendous comeback in the third Test and is on the verge of making the scoreline 2-1. It sets the series up perfectly with India still having the chance of winning the series. India has been quite dominant in the ongoing Test and has beaten England all ends up.

After putting up a competitive 329 on the board, they would have definitely backed them to bowl well. India were simply superb with the ball in hand. Hardik Pandya, in particular, was quite exceptional. He bagged five wickets for just 28 runs to give India a huge lead of 167 runs.

After setting England 521 to chase it was a special spell of fast bowling by Jasprit Bumrah which has taken India to the cusp of victory.
