Ahead of every Test match, the most exciting part for every individual is to come up with their predictions. Meanwhile, the former Team India cricketer, Mohammad Kaif gave his predictions on the series result ahead of the fourth Southampton Test at The Ageas Bowl.

Kaif feels the scoreline favouring England 2-1 could have been in India’s side. Kaif strongly believes that India should have pocketed the first Test at Edgbaston when chasing less than 200 with an ample time left.

India have a great chance to win the series – Mohammad Kaif

The veteran Indian Kaif firmly believes India has an excellent opportunity to win the ongoing Test series. He feels that the Englishmen are under massive pressure with their batsmen faltering against Indian bowling attack.

Furthermore, he predicts that visitors could probably seal the series if they continue the same form.

Once if the visiting side wins at Southampton, Kaif voiced that Virat Kohli’s side will pocket the series in the deciding Test match at The Oval London.

“Of course, India has a great chance to win the series,” Kaif told MyNation.

“I think India should not have been in this position (2-1) the way they have played. They should have won the first Test at Edgbaston. Chasing less than 200 on a decent track, with the batting line-up we have, we should have won the first one, definitely,” he said.

“In the third Test, the comeback was great. The Indian bowling has been fantastic. Virat Kohli has been leading from the front, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara is back in form. Hardik Pandya got a five-wicket haul and also hit a fifty in the second innings. Overall, it was a fantastic show by India in the third Test at Trent Bridge,” Kaif added.

Kaif feels it would be an intriguing final if India wins the Southampton Test starting on Thursday (August 30).

“England must be feeling the pressure heading into the fourth Test in Southampton. In recent times, they have not been playing well. Their batting has flopped. Their batsmen have not been able to put big runs on the board. If India can make it 2-2 it will be an interesting final Test. There, I would back India to win the series 3-2,” he added.

However, amidst of all the watchful eyes of either country fans, players are set to take the field soon. Probably, the penultimate Test will open a lot of locks in the entertaining series so far.
