England have suffered yet another injury scare ahead of World Cup 2019 as right-arm pacer Tom Curran has been ruled out of the Royal London One-Day Cup match for Surrey against Middlesex.

He has already missed team’s previous tie against Essex and now has been ruled out of today’s game.

Though he is expected to be fit soon, the news of another England’s World Cup-bound player suffering an injury scare is a big worry for the team.

The likes of Jason Roy and Joe Denly are also struggling with their fitness at the moment.

Both the players had suffered back spasms and need rest to be fit for World Cup.

England are all set to kick off their preparations for the tournament later this week and all the national players will assemble for the camp.

This will mean that the national players will not play the Royal London One-Day Cup from this week.

Also, the players playing in IPL will return from India to be part of the camp.

Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow and Sam Billings will return from India soon.

Bairstow and Ali have also played their last game of IPL for their respective franchises.

Archer and Stokes will play their last match of the season for  Rajasthan Royals today.

Billings is only a part of the squad for Ireland ODI and Pakistan T20I.

Hence, he might return to India in the final’s week if the team decides.

He has played just one IPL match so far which came against Sunrisers Hyderabad, that MS Dhoni missed due to a back issue.

Denly was also playing in IPL but he returned to England to play the List A tournament and prepare for World Cup.

England kick off their season with an ODI against Ireland on May 5.

The final of World Cup 2019 is scheduled to be played on July 14 at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
