Faf Du Plessis Highlights The Reason Behind CSK's Consistency In IPL

Former South African captain Faf Du Plessis is a doughty yet one of the classiest players. Being part of a star-studded outfit of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Du Plessis has made his chances count and become one of the vital cogs. In an Instagram session with Pommie Mbangwa, Faf Du Plessis has disclosed the recipe behind CSK’s consistency in the tournament history.

Faf Du Plessis joined the yellow army in 2012 and passed a tally of 300 runs in all the seasons except one of them. In the 2018 qualifiers game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the veteran held the fort from one end while wickets kept tumbling from the other. Eventually, his unbeaten half-century got the team over the line. The previous season transpired with Du Plessis amassing 396 runs in 12 games.

Faf Du Plessis underlined the importance of confidence, which is present in abundance in their dressing room. The right-handed batsman stated that the teammates have each other’s backs and share the workload in winning matches. According to him, that is where the confidence has built.

There is a confidence in the CSK dressing room that someone will pull it through for us, and on each occasion, it is someone different. The guys share the load in winning games, it is a confidence thing by doing it again and again. With Chennai, my experience there has been that of a calm dressing room. There are a lot of thinking cricketers in the dressing room,” Du Plessis stated as quoted by Hindustan Times.
