Mumbai batsman Suryakumar Yadav has caused a stir on Twitter by liking a controversial tweet, taking a dig at India skipper Virat Kohli as well as the selectors. The tweet was targeting Kohli and the selectors for the way Rohit Sharma’s selection matter panned out.

Last month, Rohit was not included in any of India’s three squads for the tour of Australia due to a hamstring injury. But Rohit left everyone surprised by returning to action soon in the IPL and went on to lead Mumbai Indians to a record fifth IPL title.

Later, the selectors took u-turn and included the opener in the Test squad although he has been rested for the limited-overs series as a precautionary measure. Rohit is currently in India while the rest of the team is in Australia preparing for the upcoming ODI and the T20I series.

Suryakumar Yadav slammed by fans:

Suryakumar Yadav liking the controversial tweet has offended a number of fans who did not waste much time in bashing him. Some went as far as saying that the batsman won’t get a chance any time soon from Team India after his action while some also dragged Rohit.

Suryakumar Yadav is himself miffed with the selectors for not being a part of India’s squads for the Australia tour. The in-form batsman has been scoring consistently in domestic cricket and IPL but is yet to earn a call from Team India. In the just-concluded IPL 2020 too, he scored an impressive 480 runs to help Mumbai clinch the title.
