Football Superstar Harry Kane Meets Cricket Superstar Virat Kohli

There is little denying the fact that Virat Kohli is arguably the most famous cricketer on the planet right now. The India skipper has developed a huge fan following across the globe with his breathtaking exploits on the cricket field. And if there was any doubt over his popularity then it has been ended by England and Tottenham Hotspur football star Harry Kane.

One of the best footballers on the planet right now, Kane met Kohli at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Friday. Both the players had previously expressed their mutual admiration on social media. Harry Kane and Virat Kohli posed for cameras as they struck a conversation.

“After a few tweets in the last couple of years good to finally meet @imVkohli. A great guy and a brilliant sportsman, “  Harry Kane wrote after uploading a photo of their meeting from Friday.

 

Kane and Kohli, meanwhile, have exchanged several compliments over the last two years on social media. Kane had lavished praise on Kohli after his match-winning knock against Australia in a World T20 match in 2016.

Kohli had also replied to Kane’s tweet before praising him for his performances in the Euro 2016 and even wished him luck for the Premier League campaign. Kohli had also wished Harry ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup where the England star led his country to the semifinal.

Kohli, meanwhile, will be looking to guide his team to glory in England in the upcoming World Cup. India are one of the favourites for the competition but face a stiff competition from the likes of England and Australia.

The World Cup will start on May 30 with hosts England taking on South Africa in the tournament-opener. India, on the other hand will open their campaign on June 5 against South Africa.
