Former Indian National Cricket team opener Aakash Chopra has slammed an online entertainment network for falsely using his quotes on former skipper MS Dhoni. Meanwhile, Dhoni had to miss the last two ODIs against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury. However, he has returned to training, but the management decided not to risk him with the series already done and dusted.

But India after winning three straight games went down earlier today by eight wickets at Hamilton. Trent Boult produced a magical spell picking five wickets in a spell of ten overs on a trot to wrap India’s batting order. Colin de Grandhomme also bagged three wickets to bowl India out for a paltry 92 runs.

It was an easy chase for the hosts who crossed the winning line within 15 overs and losing only two wickets. Henry Nicholls and Ross Taylor guided the Kiwis home after a blistering start by Martin Guptill.

Aakash Chopra, the former Test batsman, turned commentator, who is currently busy with his commentary commitments slammed a digital platform named ‘The Virat Fever’ for falsely quoting him, soon after the game got over. The online site used a quote where Akash Chopra questioned MS Dhoni’s credibility in the last two years. In reply, they quote Dhoni sarcastically replying that he has earned fans more than ever.

However, this irked the former batsman, who has played ten Tests for India. He took a dig at the platform and urged them to put some proof of their content on an open platform. In addition to, he also feels that they don’t need to use false statements to sell their contents.

Dear @TheViralFever, thought you guys were fairly good at what you do…really don’t feel that you have to peddle lies to sell your content. Or please share the link of my tweet/column/video where I said these words. Links to your dreams/imagination aren’t welcome. Thanks,” Aakash Chopra tweeted.

However, TVF soon realised their mistake and apologised to Aakash Chopra on the same thread. They admitted that they had no intention to spread fake news and it was done sarcastically.

Hi sir, it wasn’t our intention to spread fake news. The tweet was meant as a joke. Any offense caused was unintended and we’re sorry about that,” they replied.
