Four Men Arrested For Cricket Betting, INR 5 Lakhs Seized

Of late, the betting in the game of cricket has become an often scenario. Though the various rackets are being busted across the country, somewhere the other, it is kept on being in progress. However, the latest gang to be jailed for the same reason is in Cyberabad, when the policemen caught them red-handedly.

It is learnt by the policeman that the betting is being conducted on the ongoing Big Bash League and on Australia vs India 2018-19 series. The agency was running by two Agarwal brothers, who were arrested alongside their assistants.

Cops said that bettings were being organised for the Big Bash League (BBL) cricket matches in Australia and ongoing India- Australia one day match series. Two brothers, Ankit Agarwal and Mohit Agarwal were nabbed with their two accomplices Rohit Agarwal and Y Mahesh.

”The four organised betting from a rented house in Aramghar. They were using an app for betting. Bets were in place for every match in the BBL. We recovered phones, calculators and notebooks from the four men,” he added.

Since 2016, the two brothers are in the business of organising cricket betting. Cases are pending against the accused in Sultan Bazar, Maredpally and Rajendra Nagar police stations. All of them are also arrested previously in the same case but came out with a bail.

Well, this is not the first time to see such kind of stuff from the southern part of India. The love for cricket in Southern part of India has always been great. Perhaps, it is one of the reasons why people are involving so much of themselves in such kind of activities.

Recently, there are few requests made in the Indian Supreme Court to make betting legalise in the country. However, a section of people is against that judgement. Perhaps, the recent game between Australia and India fetched them huge profits, as India, the favourites lost the game. Well, it might increase during IPL 2019.
