Gautam Gambhir, who had scored more than 10,000 runs across formats had recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. However, the veteran cricketer recently pointed out in an interview that he was not happy with MS Dhoni’s captaincy during the 2012 CB series held in Australia.

Meanwhile, the left-hander had slammed a century against Andhra Pradesh at his home ground, i.e., Firoz Shah Kotla Stadium during the ongoing Ranji Trophy leg.

Moreover, he also revealed regarding his exclusion from the 2015 World Cup. Gambhir also questioned on the captaincy of former Team India skipper Dhoni and his rotational policy during the CB series.

“At the start of the series, we didn’t play together, it was a rotation thing. When it was a desperate moment, MS had to play three of us. If you take a decision, back your decision, stick to it. Don’t back on something on which you have already decided,” India Today quoted Gambhir as saying.

During the 2012 tri-series, in a bid to give a chance to youngsters, Dhoni had introduced a rotational policy. He conceded that the senior trio including Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, and Sachin Tendulkar couldn’t play every game. As a result, one has to be sidelined to make way for a youngster in every game.

Moreover, this was done to prepare for the 2015 World Cup which was later held on Australian shores. Dhoni felt that they were unlikely to sustain that long and was spot on about the same.

However, Tendulkar announced his retirement later in 2013 whereas, Sehwag and Gambhir lost their form. The duo then eventually got dropped from the side across all formats.

Meanwhile, with this, Twittersphere witnessed fans taking centre stage. However, some felt that it was the right decision from MS Dhoni while looking at the future while others believe it was unfair of a kind for Gautam Gambhir.

Tendulkar, Sehwag already cleared the air:

Tendulkar and Sehwag had clarified that Dhoni had spoken to them regarding the decision whereas, of late, Gambhir doesn’t seem to have taken it sportingly.
